Callum is a gentle reflection app for noticing how you’re doing. This policy explains what we collect, and — more importantly — what we don’t. It covers the Callum app and the website at drcallum.com. Callum is operated by Ian Davies (“we”, “us”), based in British Columbia, Canada. Questions: hello@drcallum.com.
Everything you log in the app — moods, signals, values, notes, tags, details and experiments — is stored locally on your device. There is no account and no sign-in. We do not transmit, receive, store, or have any access to your reflections. If you delete the app or lose your device, that data is gone (it isn’t backed up to us).
If you enter your email on drcallum.com to request early access, we store your email address along with the time you signed up and that it came from the landing page. We use this only to email you when Callum is available. We store it using Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore). We don’t use it for anything else, and we don’t share or sell it.
The website is hosted on Google Firebase Hosting, which records standard request information (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver and secure the site. We don’t add our own analytics, advertising, or third-party trackers.
Any reminders are scheduled locally on your device by the app. They don’t involve a server and don’t send your data anywhere.
You can ask us to access or delete the email you gave us — email hello@drcallum.com and we’ll remove it. Because your reflections are only on your device, you control them directly in the app. Depending on where you live (e.g. under GDPR, UK GDPR, PIPEDA, or CCPA/CPRA), you may have additional rights over personal data; we’ll honour applicable requests.
We keep your waitlist email until launch (so we can notify you) or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first.
Callum isn’t directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 13 (or the minimum age in your region).
Firebase processes data on Google’s infrastructure, which may be located outside your country. By joining the waitlist you consent to that processing.
We may update this policy; we’ll change the date above when we do. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
